NBC's hit show Heroes is almost in it's 3rd season. Heroes is one of the biggest shows in television. It has spawned many, many fan sites and even a G4 Television show that shows then discusses each episode. Heroes has a following of millions and millions of loyal fans and viewers, but there's still many, many people out there that haven't watched Heroes before. Some don't think they can start now because the show had been going for a while. People think they can't jump in because they won't understand the plot or characters. They are wrong.
Yes, it would have helped to see season 1 and the beginning of season two, but it's not a must. Heroes is almost structured like a comic book. Each season is in its own chapter. Each episode adds a little more to the chapter, until its final closing in the finale. Think of it this way: Do you need to read all the Superman comics to enjoy one? No. Heroes is kind of like that. It will take you a few episodes to fully grasp the whole picture, but its not too hard.
Heroes has been nominated for over 10 awards, and won over 6 in it's first 2 seasons. Its season 2 premiere brought in over 14 million viewers. It even received NBC's highest rating for any fall drama debut in five years. Heroes has everything from comics, to stamps, to blogs. There's even Heroes novels.
What makes Heroes so great? That's a loaded question. Heroes has many different qualities that come together to make a great show. To start with, Heroes has amazing acting. It's really some of the best. Acting like you have a superpower isn't as easy as it sounds, but these actors do it well. The writing is really what sets Heroes apart from the rest, though. Each episode you watch leaves you wanting more. Each episode brings a little to the table, but doesn't give it all to you. It leaves you thinking. It leaves your mind wandering, thinking about the characters, or what's going to happen next. That's also why it's a popular show to discuss with others. It's fun to get other's takes on the show. Someone might have thought of something you never would have, leading you to better predict the next episode.
We strongly recommend you start watching Heroes. It's a great show with plenty to offer to everyone. If you like the show, it would be a good idea to buy season 1 on DVD. You can also watch any episode online. It would be enjoyable to see how the characters got to where they are now. There's no reason you shouldn't watch it. Once you do, you'll get hooked.
