Character's powers and abilities

Micah is a technopath, which enables him to "communicate with machines and electronics."  His powers are limited to what he can physically contact.  Once he has touched the device he can instantly make the changes his mind envisions. 

Character's background

Micah is somewhat of a child prodigy.  Early in the series he is shown dismantling a new computer and later repairing the motherboard.  With his father in prison on charges for theft and murder, Micah lives with his mother Nikki (portrayed by Ali Larter).  Struggling to make ends meet, his mom does all she can to take care of him.  She manages to enroll Micah into a private school because the public system cannot challenge him, but is forced to take him out of the school because she can't afford the tuition. 

Micah and Nikki go on the run because a loan shark has sent his collectors after Nikki for not repaying a debt.  Micah is often shuffled around between his mom and a friend of her's named Tina (portrayed by Dierdre Quinn).  Although Nikki tries to keep all of what she's been doing to earn money away from Micah, he is aware and know's his mother is in trouble.

Micah's father D.L. (portrayed by Leonard Roberts), escapes prison and catches up with Nikki and their son.  After finding out Nikki framed D.L. for the crime he was imprisoned for, they end up fighting and ending with Nikki unconscious.  D.L. flee's with Micah, assuring his son that he did not kill his mom. 

While on the run we get our first glimpse of Micah's abilities.  They are at a run down motel for the night when Micah sneaks out to a pay phone with an "out of order" sign hanging on it.  Micah places his hand onto the phone and within seconds it is working again.  He then calls his mom and lets her know where to find him.
