Character's Powers, abilities, & equipment

Hiro has the power to control the space-time continuum which gives him the power to manipulate time relative to himself. He can also travel through time and teleport himself to any location at will. At times Hiro has total control of his power, then at other times he struggles with it. There have been occasions when he cannot pause time for even a second. Once Hiro obtains the sword he exhibits the ability to teleport other people along with himself. He also seems to have better control of his powers when he's got the sword with him. Hiro has also demonstrated the ability to rewind sequences of events and changing how they play out.

Character's Background

Hiro was named after Hiroshima, so that his family would always remember the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Expecting greatness out of his son, Kaito (portrayed by George Takei) hires Hiro as an office worker at Yamagoto Industries. Bored with the monotonous conformity of his job he daydreams often and whispers over his cubicle to his friend Ando (portrayed by James Kyson Lee). An Otaku, Hiro is an avid fan of superheroes and science fiction.

At the start of the series you see Hiro in his cubicle concentrating very intensely on the clock on his wall. Its at this point Hiro's power begins to develop as he manages to move the clock backwards by one second. Ecstatic at his accomplishment Hiro confides in Ando who is skeptical of Hiro's abilities.

Ando suggests Hiro teleport himself into the women's bathroom at a local club. After doing so Ando states all it proves is that he is a pervert. As Hiro walks away, Ando yells sarcastically "Super Hiro". On the train ride home Hiro see's an ad for a NYC vacation, inadvertently teleporting himself to Times Square. Before traveling back Hiro picks up a comic book of himself standing in the middle of Times Square. Thumbing through the book he see's past events of him and Ando along with future events and others with superhero abilities.

Now convinced of Hiro's abilities, Ando is more concerned with personal gain that could result from his friend's superpower, but Hiro is adamant about not using his powers in such a way. Using the comic book as their guide Hiro and Ando set out for the United States to meet their destiny.
